New Products and upcoming events

Hi all! I have a few important things coming up that I want to share!

First- I will be have a booth at the Texas Woodworking festival September 26 and 27! This is the second time I'm setting up a booth to meet and talk to fellow woodworkers about my jigs and the difference they make in my shop and I'm really excited about it! The frist time was this past August at the Maine Woodworking Event and it was a blast.

Second - DUST COLLECTION! I've been working on it for a while and I finally have a design I am happy with! Dust collection is a huge issue when you are using router sleds and I designed a dust collection unit I will start selling at Texas and will list here afterwards. I'll enclose a picture of it below. If you haven't seen it yet, I also introduced a larger flattening sled last year that is adjustable height wise as well as length wise and that has rapidly become a best seller!

Third - if you haven't heard yet, i have a book coming out this year! It is called "Beginners Guide to the Router" and is being released by Fox Chapel publishing! It will be available for pre-orders on October 6 and will go on sale November 3rd everywhere that books are normally for sale. It walks you through everything about the router (using, cleaning, troubleshooting) and router bits. I also made 9 jigs for the book that you get step by step plans for. One of the jigs is my flattening sled, that I have never sold plans for, and the other is my router table and fence that I do currently have for sale. The end has 3 projects with plans that I made using the jigs in the book.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that I am working on a design for a table saw sled using the same layout as my MicroJig Benchtopper. One of the things that has beld me up is a design for a replacable zero clearance plate and a good fence design and I have both of those figured out. I just need to find the time to make them! I'm hoping to be able to find time after Maker Camp.

I guess one last piece - Maker Camp is the second weekend in October and is one of my favorite weekends of the year! I will be there again this year and will be doing a demo on how I made my shooting board and showing how to make a piece to help stabilize your plane while shooting. If you are going to be there make sure you stop by the Restoration Station and say hi!
