This is an updated and larger version of my trim router flattening jig! This version is 24" wide and will flatten pieces up to 21" wide with your compact trim router. The new version comes with 2 additional risers to increase the depth of material that can be flattened, up to 2" with the included pieces, but the design allows you to use standard 1/4 -20 screws or bolts to increase the size to whatever you need.
The piece slides on your table top and is perfect for flattening end grain cutting boards, small boards and slabs, and cleaning up epoxy overflow. Each kit comes with an acrylic base plate that fits the jog and allows you to see what you are flattening as you work. The baseplate is pre-drilled to accommodate most trim router screw patterns.

choose your options:
Universal baseplate 1: This is the original baseplate. Fits most Ryobi, makita, or Bosch trim routers and others
Universal Baseplate 2: Fits most Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ridgid, Makita, or Porter Cable and Bosch PR20EVS.
No hole: This has the center hole and the corner holes and allows you to drill holes for your own machine.
*YOU MAY NEED TO DRILL YOUR OWN HOLES IN BASE PLATE TO MATCH THE SCREW PATTERN ON YOUR ROUTER.
Note - you can apply wax, wood oil, or other finish to the rails to assist with sliding, but it is not necessary.

It was perfect for my project. Easy to put together and use!
It took me 15 minutes to watch the video and put the jig together without a hitch. I have a live edge slab that was about 2 1/4 inches thick, so I bought 2 inch long screws and put extra 1/2 inch spacer blocks in, like was shown in the video, and it worked perfectly! My only problem was that my slab is 19 1/2 inches wide at the widest point and the jig wouldn't fit around it. So I took out one of the thumb screws and used a clamp to give me just that little bit of extra space. I would highly recommend this jig!

I would love to rate this higher but haven’t
I’ve grown tired of tear out planing end grain cutting boards and having to ensure pieces stay under 13” so they will fit my planer - I’ve tried building my own routing sleds but have never been able to build something I actually like and use. THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING! Works phenomenally well, easy to setup and break down, stores compact and easily, and it simply WORKS!!! I have nothing but amazing things to say about it and Newsoms shop/products - customer service is top notch, material quality is top notch, prices are more than fair - save yourself the hassle and wasted money of building your own…get this flattening sled! I’m glad I went with the larger - very easy to adjust and it fits perfectly for what I need it for. Looking forward to getting the bench topper ordered soon!
